Key to retaining your off road bike customers
There's one big question to ask when we talk about retaining customers for our motorcycle and ATV business - loyalty. Let's face it; marketing and promotion campaigns are usually geared towards bringing in new customers. New motorcycle and ATV customers come and go. Imagine if, as a motorcycles and ATV dealer, your supply of motorcycles and ATVs consists mostly of cheap and low-quality motorcycles and ATVs. What chances do you have in retaining your motorcycle and ATV customers? Close to Nil. They may come once and buy a motorcycle or an ATV from you one time but they'll only allow themselves to be bitten once. So, to ensure continuity of sales, it is best that you deliver top quality motorcycles and ATVs to your customers.
Providing top quality motorcycles and ATVs is part of our responsibility as dealers. When you start selling high quality and affordable motorcycles and ATVs, you'll soon see the same customer coming back and back again. It's true that a lot of people keep a second motorcycle or ATV in the form of a cheaper China-made one as a backup....but read....backup! Hence, they're not likely to place a lot of importance on the alternative motorcycle and ATV. What they will focus on is the motorcycle or ATV that they ride very often and have come to develop an attachment to. Therefore, you'll eventually see a steady rise in sale when you sell affordable good quality motorcycles and ATVs in your retail store.
Another key to keeping the sales steady is in making motorcycle and ATV parts easily available in your retail store. Some enthusiasts love to modify their motorcycles and ATVs ...be it as a hobby or for experimental purposes. As a motorcycles and ATVs dealer, you'll have to be on top of things. Find out the latest parts there are in the market today and keep a healthy stock of them in your retail store. It would be good if you had an online store where you can sell all the motorcycle and ATV parts online but it's OK even if you don't want to explore the concept of an online store. What you CAN do is to place a brochure in your website and update it with the latest stuff you have on sale. This way, your regular customers can log in, see it and come running to your store to get one!
We cannot stress the importance of providing top quality service to your customers. Train your staff about motorcycles and ATVs so that they can intelligently answer questions posed by your motorcycle and ATV customers. It's an important factor in retaining your loyal customers nothing is worse than being served by a sales assistant who knows less about motorcycles and ATVs than you! It's a turn off for the customer and fastest way to kill loyalty.
